Well this is going to be an interesting journey!

Updated: Sep 28, 2020

This is going to be an interesting journey. I have been meaning to get around to doing a blog and it just hasn’t happened, until now!

Well, seeing as this is my first blog, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself. I am Laura the proud owner and creator, lady behind the lens of Laura V Photography.

My first memory of taking a photograph, was when I borrowed my mums film camera. I can’t remember how old I was, but I just know I was young, as the camera felt really heavy. (At some point I am going to see if my mum still has this picture!) I can remember it vividly, the subject was my mums black Ford Fiesta. At the time of taking the photograph I didn’t realise my mum had popped her head round the corner of the wall of our house. I remember her saying it was to make sure I didn’t have my finger over the lens. Think we have all done that at some point in our lives!

That was the start of my photography career, I just didn’t know it at the time! I didn’t really take photography up again until AS Level. I loved the course so much that went on and furthered my career and took a BTECH Nation Diploma in photography.

This was at the time when film photography was still around. In theory I can still develop black and white film along with colour and print both of them. I’d need a little refresher these days, it's something I’ve been thinking about going back to. Maybe one day....

Photography was definitely proving very favourable as a career option. I took it one step further and got a BA Hons degree in photography!

It was while doing my degree I combined my two passions horses and photography. This is how Laura V Photography was born!

(This was my final piece for my photography degree..I still love this one!)

As you know the name for my photography is Laura V Photography. It stands for my maiden name, which was Vanderloo. I would get letters in the post and my name was often spelt wrong, so figured it might be best to shorten it.

Finally I'm able to get my photography career going. Having got a full time job after leaving university, as you do! I’m now a proud mum to, two little boys, my eldest is 4 years old and my youngest is 7 months old. But photography is where my passion lies and I know this is what I want to do, to help provide for my family.

So that is enough about me for one day! Do you have you any qualifications? Do they relate to the field you're in now?

Feel free to message me on my social media @lauravphotography Facebook and Instagra or email:

I would love to hear from you. Laura x
